REAL ESTATE WEBSITE
I was approached by a client looking to enter the niche market of selling beachfront property in Bulgaria. This project was unique in several ways, requiring deviation from industry-standard procedures typically seen in such ventures.
GOAL
Constraints
- Limited Budget: Financial resources were tightly restricted.
- Tight Schedule: The timeline for project completion was very narrow.
- Lack of Market Research: No comprehensive market research was conducted to validate the business idea, relying only on rudimentary knowledge of the competition.
My Approach
Given the constraints, I had to rethink the standard approach to ensure the project could proceed efficiently.
- Adopting the MVP Strategy: Due to the extremely tight budget and schedule, I proposed the development of a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with the client’s approval. This approach allowed us to launch quickly and gather data post-launch.
- Minimal Initial UX Design: Traditional user experience processes such as creating user personas and mapping user journeys were not feasible due to the lack of data and research on the target audience. Consequently, the wireframing and design of the website were somewhat improvised.
- Data Collection Post-Launch: To compensate for the initial lack of market research, we planned to collect data after launching the MVP. The main sources of this data were:
- Engagement and Audience Insights from Facebook Groups: We aimed to use these groups to understand the demographics, including age, gender, and income, of potential clients.
- Hotjar Implementation and A/B Testing: By using tools like Hotjar, we could analyze user behavior on the website and make iterative design changes based on the data collected.
- Google Analytics: Analyze key engagement metrics such as bounce rates, session durations, and page views to assess the effectiveness of the website.
Development Process
The development of the Webflow website was driven by a structured and iterative process aimed at achieving a scalable and user-friendly design. The process was broken down into the following key phases:
- Planning and Wireframing: Thorough planning and wireframing were the first steps. I focused on understanding the client’s needs and preferences to tailor every aspect of the website to their specifications although detached from the potential needs of the clients.
- Design Phase: During the design phase, I integrated attributes functionality and created a comprehensive filtering options crucial to the real estate industry, such as property types, locations, and pricing categories, into a dynamic property listing interface. Advanced filtering options were crafted to enhance user navigation and ensure potential buyers could easily find properties matching their criteria. Each design element was created adhering closely to the principles of the Client-First system.
- Implementation of the Client-First System: By implementing the Client-First system, I ensured consistent styling and easy content management. This approach prioritized understanding the client’s needs and preferences to tailor every aspect of the website to their specifications.
Outcome
The culmination of the current stage of this project is a sleek and responsive Webflow website. The dynamic property listing interface, enriched with advanced filtering options, offers potential buyers a seamless browsing experience. Properties are showcased in a visually appealing manner, complemented by intuitive navigation that encourages exploration and engagement. By prioritizing an MVP approach and planning for iterative improvements post-launch, we were able to deliver a functional and attractive website within the constraints of a limited budget and tight schedule. The data collected post-launch will provide valuable insights for further refining the user experience and enhancing the site’s effectiveness in attracting potential buyers.
